Hearing Protection
So I have never like sticking stuff in my ears and my over-the-ear ones are getting in the way of a good cheek weld. any suggestions? I am not totally opposed to getting in-the-ear Hearing Protection ones as long as they are comfortable, will last, and wont fall out or need to be messed with every 5 minutes.

Electronic Hearing Protection
Electronic muffs are great when you need to hear range commands and converse while sitll wearing protection, e.g. at a shooting competition, or for hearing your spotter/partner when doing drills. They generally offer slightly less overall DB reduction than non-electronic muffs or foam plugs, but the difference is slight.
Foam plugs and non-electronic muffs work well, but you lose the ability to communicate easily.
Muffs can interfere with cheek weld which may be a problem when shooting a precision rifle, but is less so when shooting tactically.
For .50 bmg shooting, foam plugs AND muffs are a must, IMO.
I prefer the Peltor TAC7s to other electronic muffs such as the Pro-Ears. The Pro-Ears Electronic Hearing Protection are not made as durably, the batteries are hard to change, and they aren't as loud. The Peltor TAC6 is not as good either, but they are less expensive and less bulky than the TAC7. The Peltor Comtac is similiar to the TAC7 but unless you need the communication features (I dont') you really don't need them, and they offer less overall sound reduction than the TAC7s. The Comtac does fit under the MICH helmet, but again, you likely don't care about that.
For most shooting, foam plugs offer the most sound reduction, are cheap, and comfortable to wear. I wore foam plugs for years, until a few slip ups at the range--on one occasion, I had taken a plug out to talk, and a numbnuts fired a full magazine from a full-auto Uzi not five feet from my head without calling a hot range.
I lost some hearing over that one, and realized that the only good hearing protection is one that gets used, all the time when needed. I bought the TAC7s after that, and am much happier at the range since.

SHOOTING HEARING PROTECTION

What do you guys do for hearing protection? I am looking to do something new as I am tired of ear muffs and disposable plugs. Is there anything else out there? Muffs give me a headache if I wear them of too long plus they suck during the summer heat. The disposable foam plugs are just a pain to take in and out and the ones with fins seem to be sub-par.
Do I have any other options for Electronic Hearing Protection for Shooters?
I have the habit of putting them in and taking them out several timers per range session if I am shooting outdoors and I hate having to roll the foam plugs up and then jam them in my ear hoping that they expand correctly. I also don't like rolling them up with my hands that have dirt, gunpowder, lead and no telling what else on them and them sticking the plugs in my ear.
After hearing about the ear armor plugs and doing a bit of my own research, those seem like just what I was looking for.
