BSA Scopes

I don't see another optics forum, other than the one under AR-15,
and this sure doesn't go there.

I bought a BSA 4X32 Air Rifle/.22 BSA scope Thursday. $18.75 + tax at Academy
Put it on my air rifle, GAMO Varmint Hunter, Friday.
Shot one 3-shot group at a plate. (range about 20 yds, no wind, seated, off-hand)
Adjusted windage/elevation; shot once dead-center of the plate;
shot again, hit the first hole; Shot again, 1/2" left + high.
WTF???!!!
The reticle rotated clockwise about 20 degrees.
I loosen the rings, remount the BSA Scopes to get a proper reticle, shoot three more times
and the reticle was now rotated approximately 45 degrees from its original position.

If you mean the one that Walmart sells for about $30, I have one as one of several BSA Optics systems for a dedicated .22 AR. I like

it, it's well worth the money. My only complaint is that its brightest setting, turned up "to eleven" (literally), it is none too bright for a real sunny day. If it's bright out, the dot is visible but doesn't quite glow or stand out as I'd expected.

I like the thing and shoot the gun with that on it quite a bit. I'd say it's worth its modest price, and will help you decide if you like the whole red dot concept without tying up a whole buttload of money.

I ma getting that Rifle scope used for 35$, so i need to get rings that are suitable for such a "cheap" piece of optics
basicaly i am wondering if i should get a walmart special/gander mtn or is the BSA 24X scope worthy of a better set of rings?
im just getting my feet wet with this scope as it is my first piece of glass for any of my rifles. i plan on getting a very nice high power scope eventually, but this wil have to do for now.
what should i spend on a BSA scope like this?

I like the one piece mounts, there is a baseplate that clamps on the flatop and the bottom half of two rings are part of the one piece. I am a cheep bastard so I use the B-Square,there are more expensive ones out there that claim to be more ridged although I believe this (cheeper) mount is more ridgid that two seperate rings would be. Cost with my midway C&R is something like $60
Big benifit is that the rings are offset so the front ring can hang out over the handguard and this allows the scope to be further forward than two normal rings would allow. If you swap between the carry handle irons and a scope (i do this a lot) and put the scope back on the same cross slot the zero is generally pretty close. I have several different sets of these mounts with different scopes and I am able to swap scopes pretty fast. By drilling a clearance hole in the rails on my 10/22s I am able to use the same mount (and Aimpoint and Eotech ) on them although the zero isn't as close
